For the sixth year running, the best food and wine offerings from the Gold Coast will be on show during Tastes of Gold Coast 2009.
This fabulous two week food and wine festival - an initiative of Gold Coast City Council - will be held from 21 August to 6 September at a host of locations throughout the city.
The Gold Coast’s reputation as a leading holiday destination is well documented. However, it now has a growing reputation for the excellence of its wine, food, restaurants, boutique breweries and cheese making to name but a few.
These all come together during the festival to deliver a range of events and activities to appeal to a wide variety of tastes and budgets.
This year attendees have the opportunity to enjoy up to 30 different food and wine events, showcasing the finest examples of local produce, seafood, wines and brews.
Event organiser, Wendy Lacey, predicts an increasing number of visitors will discover that the Gold Coast and its surrounding hinterland offers a variety of produce to support regional cuisine on the menu at many of this year’s events.
“With a wealth of local produce to choose from, we expect chefs to make some inspired menu choices, focusing more on regional produce at some of the signature events to tantalise taste buds across the two week festival,” Ms. Lacey said.
